Broccoli Quiche
On quiet weekend mornings, when the family gathers for a special meal, Grandma Leslie's broccoli and cheddar quiche takes center stage. With a perfect blend of broccoli, savory mushrooms, bright pimientos, and a rich egg custard, this dish is a true crowd-pleaser at any family brunch. The quiche bakes as stories are shared and laughter fills the kitchen, creating an atmosphere of warmth and love. Recipe:
1 package of chopped frozen broccoli, thawed
small can of mushrooms
small jar of pimiento, chopped
3/4 cup scalded milk
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon minced onion
4-6 ounces grated cheddar cheese
In a large bowl, combine thawed broccoli, mushrooms, and chopped pimiento. Put on the bottom of a shallow baking dish and mix together. In a separate bowl, mix together scaled milk, eggs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and minced onion. Pour over top of mixture. Sprinkle 4-6 ounces of grated cheddar cheese over top. Bake in oven for 20 minutes at 425 degrees then 15 minutes at 300 degreees. Serves 4-5.
