Italian Meatball Sliders
Indulge in the deliciousness of Italian meatball sliders, a mouthwatering appetizer that’s perfect for any gathering! These mini sliders are made with tender ground sirloin, blended with fresh basil, minced garlic, and coated with breadcrumbs for extra flavor and texture. Each slider is lovingly formed and cooked to golden perfection, then nestled in soft slider rolls. Topped with luscious slices of fresh mozzarella and served with a rich marinara sauce, these sliders are an irresistible treat that will delight your guests. Recipe:
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1 1/2 tablespoons fresh basil, minced
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
12 ounces ground sirloin
1 large egg
1 garlic clove, minced
club or slider rolls, halved lengthwise
cooking spray
4 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, cut crosswise into 12 thin slices
1 cup marinara sauce
12 fresh basil leaves (optional)
Preheat broiler on high. Combine breadcrumbs, fresh basil, salt, ground sirloin, egg, and minced garlic clove in a large bowl. Mix well. Divide meat mixture into 24 equal portions and shape into a meatball. On a baking sheet, cut and arrange rolls. Broil for 30 seconds or until lightly toasted. Remove rolls from pan. Place meatballs on a coated broiler pan. Broil for 3 minutes or desired degree. Turn meatballs over. Broil for 2 minutes or desired degree. Place 2 meatballs on each roll and top each slider with 1 slice of cheese. Broil for 1 minute, or until cheese melts. Pour marinara sauce into a microwave-safe dish. Cover and microwave on high for 1 1/2 minutes or until heated. Stir once. Place 1 1/2 tablespoons of marinara sauce over each sandwich. Top sliders with 1 basil leaf and bun. Serves 6
