Waikiki Meat Balls
These meatballs are sure to impress at any gathering!

Recipe:
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
2/3 cup fine cracker crumbs
1/3 cup minced onion
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ginger
1/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon shortening
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup brown sugar firmly packed
1 can (13.5 oz) pineapple tidbits draine **save syrup**
1/3 cup vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/3 cup chopped green pepper
Mix meat, crumbs, onion, egg, salt, ginger and milk. Shape by rounded teaspoons to make small balls. Melt shortening in a large skillet. Mix cornstarch and sugar: stir in reserved pineapple syrup, vinegar and soy sauce, stirring until smooth. Pour into skillet where meatballs cooked, place over medium heat and stir constantly until mixture thickens as it boils. Keep stirring and let boil one minute. Add meatballs, pineapple bits, green pepper; heat thoroughly. Serves 6 **great served over rice**
